Trump orders agencies to stop taxpayers’ funding for illegal migrants

By Neil Munro | Breitbart President Donald Trump has ordered his agencies to scrub their regulations and spending programs to ensure illegal migrants are not getting taxpayers’ funds via hidden channels. Trump signed the Executive Order titled “Preserving Federal Benefits for American Citizens” late on Wednesday. The policy could save tens of billions of dollars per year. But the full economic impact will not be known for many months because Trump’s deputies must find the aid programs, change policies to stop some funding. fend off lawsuits, and then gradually rewrite regulations to stop more funding. Why lawmakers are afraid 24k Coloradans may disappear in the next budget year, and with them $77M

By Brian Eason | The Colorado Sun Nearly 24,000 Coloradans are set to disappear from the state’s population this year — at least as far as the state budget is concerned. It’s no mere illusion. The vanishing act will have real consequences for public services, to the tune of $77 million in required cuts, if lawmakers don’t take action to prevent it. The issue dates all the way back to when the legislature first implemented the Taxpayer’s Bill of Rights in 1993, the year after voters added it to the state constitution. Millions in tax dollars went toward programs taught by those fanning flames of anti-Israel protests

By Jaryn Crouson | Daily Caller Professors connected to anti-Israel protests head programs that received millions of taxpayer dollars, according to a report released Wednesday by government transparency group Open The Books. The study analyzed the top three grant recipients, Indiana University, Columbia University and Georgetown University, and found that each highlighted anti-Israel professors as distinguished staff in their programs. “These universities all have multibillion dollar endowments,” Amber Todoroff, deputy policy editor at Open The Books, told the Daily Caller News Foundation. “They...

Taxpayers gave $50 million to Thornton’s Solid Power to expand, prove out EV battery technology

By Michael Booth | The Colorado Sun Thornton-based Solid Power has a $50 million federal grant to ramp up development of the solid-state EV batteries it considers the technology of the near-future in automobiles, putting the company closer to its goal of developing a mass production facility in the eastern U.S. or Korea.  The current EV battery market is dominated by liquid-based lithium-ion versions, and solid-state researchers believe their models are safer and offer more driving range to settle “range anxiety” fears among potential buyers. The federal grant for Solid Power, announced Friday, will allow the company to expand to a continuous manufacturing line in Colorado of the sulfide-based solid electrolytes to replace the smaller batch system currently in place.  READ TH...

Zelensky attacks Trump and Vance to U.S. media, tours ammo plant in PA at taxpayers’ expense

By Christina Coulter  | Breitbart Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky is bashing former President Donald Trump and his running mate, Sen. JD Vance (R-OH), attacking them in American media outlets and touring an ammunition factory in Pennsylvania Sunday — reportedly arriving there at the taxpayers’ expense on an Air Force jet. The New Yorker has an exhaustive piece on Zelensky penned by Joshua Yaffa, stating that the Ukrainian leader “speaks with the urgency of a leader who knows that he may be facing his last best chance for substantial foreign assistance” as President Biden’s presidential term is coming to an end. The Q&A in the piece is revealing, as Zelensky openly attacks Trump, asserting that he “doesn’t really know how to stop the war even if he might think he knows how....
