The $16 million effort to overcome GOP skepticism on early voting in Pennsylvania

By Audrey Fahlberg | National Review Back in April, the Republican State Leadership Committee began featuring high-profile digital and peer-to-peer ads urging Republican voters to embrace mail-in ballots. “If you’re working a double shift or family responsibilities prevent you from voting on Election Day, Joe Biden wins,” Donald Trump Jr. says in one of the 15-second spots. “Pennsylvania, I need you to join the mail-in voting list today.” On the ground here Monday evening, the former president’s eldest son made an in-person plea to Keystone State voters — bank your vote early before Pennsylvania’s October 29 early and vote-by-mail deadline. Don Jr. is one of many high-profile surrogates that a coalition of Republican spending groups — the Sentinel Action Fund, Repub...

Donald Trump wears garbage worker vest to rally in critical swing state

By Peter Pinedo | Fox News Just six days until Nov. 5 and the day after President Biden called Trump supporters "garbage," Former President Donald Trump addressed several thousand supporters in Green Bay, Wisconsin, while wearing a garbage worker's high visibility vest. Trump explained that his decision to arrive at the rally in a dump truck, dressed in a garbage vest, was made spur of the moment. He joked that the vest made him look thinner and quipped that the vest could become part of his everyday attire.  "When they said I’d look thinner, I said in that case, I’ll wear it onstage," he joked. "I may never wear a blue jacket again."   READ THE FULL STORY AT FOX NEWS

‘A child would know’ better: Trump blasts Biden’s disastrous Afghanistan withdrawal

By Shawn Fleetwood | The Federalist On Friday, Donald Trump blasted Joe Biden for his “horribly” managed 2021 withdrawal from Afghanistan that got 13 American service members killed. The moment came during a three-hour conversation between the former president and comedian Joe Rogan on the latter’s “Joe Rogan Experience” podcast. The men were discussing the implications of U.S. foreign policy under Biden and Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. Trump said he believed Russian President Vladimir Putin “would have never” invaded Ukraine if he was still president, and contended the “number one” reason Putin launched his offensive is because “he doesn’t respect Biden at all.” READ THE FULL STORY AT THE FEDERALIST

Forget swing states, here are the swing counties that will decide the 2024 election

By Cami Mondeaux | Washington Examiner Swing states have been getting all the headlines in the run-up to Election Day, but within them, there are a handful of counties that will determine if Vice President Kamala Harris or former President Donald Trump wins the big prize. As things stand, Harris is expected to garner a minimum of 226 electoral votes, and Trump 219. Should that hold, Harris would need only 44 electoral votes to reach the magic 270 threshold, while Trump would need 51. That means every vote in every swing county within every swing state counts. Here are the most consequential counties to keep an eye on throughout election night. READ THE FULL STORY AT THE WASHINGTON EXAMINER

Young: Kamala Harris continues to underperform in critical states

By J.T. Young, Commentary | Commentary, The Hill Kamala Harris is continuing to underperform across the polling spectrum.   Pick any average from the multitude of polling views — two-way, multicandidate, battleground states, and even individual battleground states — and Harris is running consistently below where Joe Biden was in 2020 and Hillary Clinton in 2016.   So it’s no surprise Democrats are growing nervous. ‘Swing State’ election officials were ready for almost anything. Just not this.

By John Sakellariadis, Liz Crampton and Jessica Piper | Politico The Category 4 hurricane that ripped through the eastern seaboard is scrambling election preparations in some of the country’s top battlegrounds — adding to the troubles of administering the vote amid conspiracy theories and toxic partisan divides. The swing states of Georgia and North Carolina were among the most heavily affected by Hurricane Helene, which flooded towns, destroyed buildings, took out power and cell service and forced widespread road closures, with a death toll that has already ticked above 200. The upturning of everyday life has also introduced unanticipated disruptions into the nuts-and-bolts of running a high-stakes presidential election. Now, election officials are racing to ensure storm-batter...

Majority of suburban women in swing states say Harris lacks ‘viable solutions’ for economy: Poll

By Cami Mondeaux | Washington Examiner A majority of suburban women are expressing concerns about Vice President Kamala Harris’s ability to handle the economy, which is becoming one of the top voter concerns of the 2024 election.  About 72% of suburban women say the economy is a top priority for them heading into the election, according to a survey conducted by the Place America First super PAC that was first obtained by the Washington Examiner. Of those, 70% say Harris lacks “viable solutions” for the economy compared to former President Donald Trump.  The survey also shows Trump gaining ground with other key voting demographics, including English-speaking Hispanics and veterans. About 65% of the Hispanic voters surveyed said they were more inclined to vote for Trump, w...
