Big tech companies ‘concerned’ after Australia bans social media for kids

By Julianna Frieman | Daily Caller Australia passed a law Thursday banning children younger than 16 from using social media, worrying some Big Tech companies. The Social Media Minimum Age bill requires social media platforms, including Instagram, Facebook, Snapchat and X, to prevent users below the age of 16 from accessing the websites or face fines, Reuters reported. Violations could cost Big Tech companies up to $32 million in penalties, according to the outlet. Australia’s social media ban for minors takes effect in one year. Social media erupts as Biden bites multiple babies dressed in costumes

By Julianna Frieman | The Daily Caller President Joe Biden skipped the candy and went straight for the baby Wednesday night when he appeared to bite multiple infants dressed up for the annual Halloween celebration at the White House. Viral video shows the president appear to chomp on a child wearing a chicken costume at the Biden family’s last trick-or-treat event at the White House. Theme music from the movie “Jaws” was heard playing as the baby, held by a woman wearing a long red dress, squirmed after Biden bowed his head and made contact. “President Trump is mingling with garbage men at his rally in Wisconsin. Meanwhile, Joe Biden is literally BITING BABIES at the White House Halloween Party,” X user @nicksorter wrote in response to the video. “WTF IS THIS TIMELINE?” ...

Biden-Harris admin ‘taking advice from foreign governments’ on policing speech, lawmaker charges

By Fred Lucas | Fox News A newly released tranche of documents shows senior Biden-Harris administration officials gained pointers from British "disinformation" officials about partnering with social media companies and establishing an all-of-government effort for fighting disfavored content that includes elections and COVID-19.   The revelation, which comes as Congress investigates potential censorship efforts by the executive branch in the lead-up to the 2024 election, has prompted a House Republican to propose legislation to prevent U.S. tax money going to countries that regulate online speech. The National Security Council held a private meeting with the U.K. government’s Counter Disinformation Unit on Aug. 21, 2021. The Counter Disinformation Unit is part of the...

Kilpper: Hillary Clinton says quiet part out loud on free speech

By Gage Kilpper | Daily Caller The catch-and-release migrant programs created by President Joe Biden and endorsed by Vice President Kamala Harris have increased national security risks, according to the independent watchdog that oversees the Department of Homeland Security. The DHS Office of Inspector General released a report last week finding that Customs and Border Protection is releasing noncitizens without identification into the United States, contrary to federal law, in a manner that “inadvertently increases national security risks.” The same report also found that the Transportation Security Administration then lets these same unidentified noncitizens onto airplanes, where they are free to fly wherever they wish in the U.S. According to t...

Knudsen: Kamala Harris blasted for ‘pitiful’ Hurricane Helene response

By Hannah Knudsen, Commentary | Breitbart Vice President Kamala Harris is facing intense scrutiny — not from the establishment media, but from Americans on social media — for her lackluster response to the damage inflicted on several states due to Hurricane Helene. Hurricane Helene made landfall as a strong Category 4 storm late Thursday in Florida’s Big Bend region. While Florida has been in recovery under the direction of Florid Gov. Ron DeSantis — who is no stranger to unleashing a strong hurricane response, swiftly restoring power, inspecting bridges, and clearing roadways in the Sunshine State — many inland and beyond were caught off guard by the mass devastation in inland areas, such as Asheville, North Carolina. According to the Associated Press, at least 30 were&nbs...

Political ads on social media rife with misinformation and scams, new research finds

By DAVID KLEPPER | The Associated Press (via Colorado Politics) The online advertisement to Donald Trump supporters was clear enough: Click here, and receive a free Trump 2024 flag and a commemorative coin. All in exchange for taking a quick survey and providing a credit card number for the $5 shipping and handling. “You’ll get two free gifts just by taking this quick poll in support of Trump,” says the ad's narrator. The ad — which has appeared on Facebook, YouTube and other platforms — didn't mention the $80 charge that would later appear on credit card statements. Those that clicked were scammed. Political advertisements on social media are one of the best ways for candidates to reach supporters and raise campaign cash. READ THE FULL STORY AT COLORADO POLITICS...
