Pentagon says transgender troops are disqualified from service without an exemption

By Anders Hagstrom  | Fox News U.S. service members who are transgender or otherwise exhibit gender dysphoria are prohibited from military service unless they obtain an exemption, according to an internal Pentagon memo. The memo, revealed in a court filing on Wednesday night, details the Trump administration's new policy regarding transgender individuals. The policy notes that such service members "may be considered for a waiver on a case-by-case basis, provided there is a compelling Government interest." "Service members who have a current diagnosis or history of, or exhibit symptoms consistent with, gender dysphoria are disqualified from military service," the memo reads. Pentagon fails 7th audit, costing $178 million, cannot account for $824 billion budget

By Thomas Stevenson | The Post Millennial The Pentagon has failed its seventh audit in a row as of Friday and cannot account fully for the $824 billion the Department of Defense (DoD) is allocated. Despite this, DoD officials say they have "turned a corner" on the spending. The audit itself cost the government $178 million. The Pentagon could not provide a full accounting of the $824 billion DoD budget, sparking more outrage from taxpayers who fund the operation, per Fox News. The DoD said, "Teams of independent public accountants and the DoD Office of Inspector General closely examined the financial statements of the Department and its reporting entities. Of the 28 reporting entities undergoing standalone financial statement audits, 9 received an unmodified audi...

By Casey Harper | Daily Signal The U.S. Department of Defense is under scrutiny for refusing to release records about exactly how spending on diversity, equity, and inclusion helps with national security. The Center to Advance Security in America in May filed with the Defense Department a Freedom of Information Act Request, the legal pathway to obtain government documents. The FOIA sought to find out what Pentagon officials estimate is the real impact on national security of DEI spending, for which Congress approved $86.5 million in fiscal year 2023. Congress preps for drama with spending, farm bill, Pentagon policy and election-year bombast

By Lindsey McPherson | The Washington Times Memorial Day for Congress kicked off an election-year summer sprint in which serious legislating usually takes a backseat to partisan messaging bills. The Senate started voting on bills that the Democrats in control there know will fail but want to message on. That started last week with a second failed vote on a border policy bill and will continue next week when Senate Majority Leader Charles E. Schumer plans a vote on a bill to establish a statutory right to contraception. The Republican-led House is more focused on bills it can pass but also wants to score points. House GOP leaders laid out an ambitious plan to pass all 12 annual spending bills in June and July. With what will soon be a two-vote GOP majority, they don’t have much ...
