Neither Ukraine or Russia are engaging in the peace process properly, Secretary of State Marco Rubio suggested on Friday morning as he boarded his flight back to the U.S., saying if there isn’t a breakthrough in the peace process within days the United States would disengage. Zelenskyy made the concession in a lengthy statement posted to social media on Tuesday, saying Ukraine "is ready to come to the negotiating table." He added that last week's meeting "did not go the way it was supposed to be," and he said "it is time to make things right." Macron and Trump met on the third anniversary of the Russian invasion of Ukraine, which Trump said “would never have happened if I was president” in February 2022. “Europe must take that central role in assuring the long-term security of Ukraine, which they want to do,” Trump said. “And that’s not a very big step.
