By Paul Bois | Breitbart The fast food behemoth McDonald’s will reportedly end some of its Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) initiatives, citing the Supreme Court recently outlawing affirmative action (racial preferences) in college admissions. In a lengthy open letter signed by McDonald’s senior leadership team, the fast food giant said that while it remains steadfast in its commitment to inclusion, it will be rolling back some of its DEI initiatives. Per the Associated Press: McDonald’s said Monday it will retire specific goals for achieving diversity at senior leadership levels. By Carol McKinley | The Gazette A Colorado Springs mother and her 10-year-old child are suing McDonald’s and Taylor Farms after each of them ate a Double Quarter Pounder hamburger in mid-October and were exposed to E coli. Geovanna Zambrano, whose name has not been public until now, and her daughter consumed the burgers immediately after buying them on Oct. 17 at the McDonald’s restaurant at 390 S. 8th St., according to the lawsuit. By Carol McKinley | The Gazette A 34-year-old Greeley man who ate at a McDonald's in early October and got seriously ill has filed the first lawsuit in the U.S. related to the recent McDonald's E. coli outbreak. Eric Stelly is suing for "in excess of $50,000 for past and future economic damages," according to the lawsuit. One person in Mesa County, an older man with other medical conditions, has died of E. coli poisoning related to the outbreak, according to the Colorado Department of Health and Environment. Addressing the issue, McDonald's President Joe Erlinger wrote an open letter to the chain's customers. McDonald's has faced a situation similar to that of gasoline prices, after a picture of an $18 Big Mac meal went viral.
