Matt Gaetz to anchor One America News Network show

By Jenny Goldsberry | Washington Examiner Former Rep. Matt Gaetz is taking on an anchor role with One America News Network. The Matt Gaetz Show will be coming soon, according to OAN’s website. This comes after Gaetz resigned from the House of Representatives last month when President-elect Donald Trump named Gaetz as his first choice to be the next attorney general. The congressman withdrew himself from consideration eight days later when it became clear he wouldn’t have support from at least 51 senators to be confirmed in the role. OAN is broadcast via 85 stations across the country in addition to its own streaming app. Its cast of anchors was relatively unknown before joining the network. OAN originally existed among DirecTV’s channels until AT&T, its par...

The View hosts issue four legal notes in one broadcast

By  Haley Strack | National Review The New York Post had a great piece on Saturday counting the number of times that The View‘s hosts, during Friday’s broadcast, had to issue legal notes when discussing President-elect Donald Trump’s cabinet nominees. After discussing sexual assault allegations against onetime attorney general nominee Matt Gaetz (who dropped out of the running last week) and defense secretary nominee Pete Hegseth, show producers made host and former prosecutor Sunny Hostin read aloud legal notes. “I have a legal note,” she said. “Matt Gaetz has long denied all allegations and has not been charged with any crime.” READ THE FULL STORY AT NATIONAL REVIEW

Matt Gaetz withdraws name from consideration as Attorney General

By Katelynn Richardson | Daily Caller Republican Florida Rep. Matt Gaetz withdrew his name Thursday from consideration as attorney general. Gaetz wrote on X that his confirmation was “unfairly becoming a distraction” to the work of President-elect Donald Trump’s transition. “There is no time to waste on a needlessly protracted Washington scuffle, thus I’ll be withdrawing my name from consideration to serve as Attorney General,” he wrote. “Trump’s DOJ must be in place and ready on Day 1.” READ THE FULL STORY AT THE DAILY CALLER

FBI, DOJ officials with Biden-Harris admin lawyer up in prep for potential prosecutions by incoming AG Matt Gaetz

By Thomas Stevenson | The Post Millennial Current DOJ as well as FBI officials are reaching out to lawyers after President-elect has chosen former Rep. Matt Gaetz for US Attorney General. Some of the most senior officials in the federal justice agencies are preparing for potential prosecution during the upcoming Trump administration. According to NBC News, after Trump's victory over Harris, some long-time and senior-level staff at the DOJ as well as the FBI are nervous that Trump appointments such as Gaetz at the DOJ could go after them legally. The selection of Gaetz has specifically made them nervous about possible cases against them, per the outlet. Some FBI officials were "shell-shocked" by Trump's election win.  Trump has long promised to "drain the swamp...

Davidson: We need to take a wrecking ball to the DOJ. Matt Gaetz is just the man for the job

By John Daniel Davidson, Commentary | The Federalist Gaetz isn’t ‘unqualified’ to lead the Justice Department. As a victim of the DOJ, he might be the best person to reform it. The collective pearl-clutching by the corporate press and Washington establishment on Wednesday after Trump announced he’d chosen Matt Gaetz to be his attorney general was something to behold. The swamp consensus is that the former Florida congressman is “unqualified” to lead the Justice Department. Never mind that the people making this claim are themselves deeply unqualified to hold their own positions of power. (Consider Alaska Sen. Lisa Murkowski, who dismissed Gaetz as not a “serious” pick. Murkowski is poster-child for unserious and unqualified Beltway drones. She failed the bar exam f...

McCarthy says he’s not Speaker because ‘one person’ in Congress wanted to avoid ethics complaint

LAUREN IRWIN | The Hill Former Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) said at an event Tuesday that he is no longer the leader of the House because “one person” in Congress wanted to avoid an ethics complaint about sexual misconduct. Speaking at an event at Georgetown University, McCarthy linked his historic ousting as Speaker to the allegations against Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-Fla.). “I’ll give you the truth why I’m not Speaker. Because one person, a member of Congress, wanted me to stop an ethics complaint because he slept with a 17-year-old,” McCarthy said. READ THE FULL STORY AT THE HILL

Florida Rep. Matt Gaetz calls on Colorado Republicans to ‘stand with President Trump’

By BRIAN PORTER | The Rocky Mountain Voice PUEBLO -- Don't let it be said Florida Congressman Matt Gaetz can't read a room. As he stepped to the stage to deliver a keynote address to Colorado Republicans here Saturday, he could have stopped after his first few words. "This is Donald Trump's party, and I am a Donald Trump Republican," Gaetz started. Delegates immediately erupted in applause for the self-described firebrand in Congress, brought to Colorado by another firebrand, his seatmate in Congress. "It is hard to talk about the good coming out of Colorado, without talking about my favorite Congresswoman, Lauren Boebert," Gaetz said. He also joined an endorsement by Trump for Colorado Republican Party Chairman Dave Williams, who is seeking Colorado's 5th District seat i...
