By Jesse Paul | The Colorado Sun Democrat Adam Frisch is spending at least $100,000 to air a TV ad in the Republican primary in Colorado’s 3rd Congressional District in an apparent attempt to shape the race and give himself a better chance to win in November. The ad attacks Grand Junction attorney Jeff Hurd for “ducking Republican debates” and for refusing to say who he voted for in the 2016 and 2020 presidential elections, as well as for being the beneficiary of corporate super PAC money. It’s a clear call to GOP primary voters in the Republican-leaning 3rd District to back a different candidate in the six-way race — someone Frisch believes will be easier to beat in November. Hurd, an attorney and first-time candidate, was the choice of 27% of the likely Republican primary voters polled, with none of his rivals breaking out of single digits, according to results of a co/efficient survey conducted this week and made available exclusively to Colorado Politics. Hurd qualifies for primary ballot in Colorado’s 3rd District U.S. House race

Brian Porter | The Rocky Mountain Voice Jeff Hurd, a Grand Junction attorney, has qualified for a place on the ballot in Colorado's 3rd District in Congress, the Secretary of State's office announced Wednesday. Hurd has been endorsed by former Secretary of State Scott Gessler and former State Treasurer Walker Stapleton, who also was the Republican nominee for governor in 2018. On his campaign website, Hurd is in the race, it says, to "provide a sincere and hardworking representative focused more on doing something than being someone." Border security, improving the economy through job creation and empowering families are among the issues on his website.
