Israel says it will only extend Gaza cease-fire deal if hostage deal passed

By Reuters via The New York Post Foreign Minister Gideon Saar said Tuesday Israel was ready to proceed to the second phase of the Gaza cease-fire deal, as long as Hamas was ready to release more of the 59 hostages it is still holding. Fighting in Gaza has been halted since January 19 under a truce arranged with US support and Qatari and Egyptian mediators, and Hamas has exchanged 33 Israeli hostages and five Thais for some 2,000 Palestinian prisoners and detainees. But the initial 42-day truce has expired and Hamas and Israel, which has blocked the entry of aid trucks into Gaza, remain far apart on broader issues including the postwar governance of Gaza and the future of Hamas itself. Netanyahu delays Gaza cease-fire vote, accusing Hamas of trying to back out in ‘last-minute crisis’

By Bradford Betz | Fox News Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Thursday accused Hamas of backing out of a cease-fire deal to release hostages and bring a pause to more than a year of fighting in the Gaza Strip.  Netanyahu's office said Thursday his Cabinet won't meet to vote on the Gaza cease-fire deal until Hamas backs down from what it called a "last minute crisis." Netanyahu's office accused Hamas, without elaborating, of trying to go back on part of the agreement in an attempt "to extort last minute concessions."  READ THE FULL STORY AT FOX NEWS

U.S., Israel conduct dozens of strikes, hit more than 75 targets in wake of Syria’s regime collapse

By John Oyewale | Daily Caller The U.S. and Israel conducted dozens of airstrikes Sunday on targets in Syria following the dramatic collapse of the ruling Assad regime and amid concerns radical and terrorist groups could exploit Syria’s current situation. The U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) announced it hit over 75 “known [Islamic State of Iraq and al-Sham] ISIS camps and operatives in central Syria” using precision airstrikes. CENTCOM added that it struck the targets to “disrupt, degrade, and defeat ISIS” and render it incapable of exploiting the nation’s current state to regroup in central Syria. There was no indication of civilian deaths from the strikes, CENTCOM noted. READ THE FULL STORY AT THE DAILY CALLER

Lame-duck Biden-Harris admin sanctions Israelis, sends $230M to Palestinians

By Joel B. Pollak | Breitbart The lame-duck Biden-Harris administration is slapping new sanctions on Israelis, while sending nearly a quarter of a billion dollars in additional funding to the Palestinians, adding insult to injury in the closing weeks of its failed policy. The Washington Free Beacon noted Monday: The Biden-Harris administration on Monday unveiled sweeping new sanctions on Israeli Jews, just days after it awarded another $230 million in taxpayer funds to the Palestinians. The back-to-back announcements signal that diplomatic relations between Israel and the outgoing White House will continue to sour until President-elect Donald Trump retakes office next year. Biden-Harris ultimatum to Israel: Improve dire Gaza conditions or risk losing aid

By Jake Smith | Daily Signal The Biden-Harris administration is warning Israel that if it does not improve the humanitarian conditions in Gaza, it will risk losing military aid, according to multiple reports. The Palestinians in Gaza have been caught in the crossfire in the war between Israel and Hamas, the latter of which invaded Israel on Oct. 7 and killed approximately 1,200 people. Though the U.S. has been largely supportive of Israel’s efforts to destroy Hamas, it has become seriously concerned with the dire humanitarian crisis in Gaza, and it seems the Biden-Harris administration may be reaching a breaking point with the Israeli government over military aid, according to several reports. US boots hit ground in Israel as threat from Iran looms

By Jake Smith | Daily Caller U.S. servicemembers arrived in Israel on Monday amid the country’s chaotic multifront war with various actors in the region, and more troops will arrive soon, the Pentagon said on Tuesday. The Pentagon previously announced on Sunday that the troops would be deployed to the Middle East along with a Terminal High-Altitude Area Defense (THAAD) missile battery system, meant to help Israel defend itself against potential aerial attacks against missile attacks from Iran. The approximately 100 troops that arrived on Monday will help operate the THAAD system, though the Pentagon wouldn’t say when it would be operational, given the sensitive security nature of the situation. “Over the coming days, additional U.S. military personnel and THAAD battery components ...
