The Biden effect? Border Patrol has lost a quarter of workforce since 2020 election

ByAnna Giaritelli | Washington Examiner The U.S. Border Patrol has lost nearly a quarter of its workforce since Democratic candidate Joe Biden beat incumbent Donald Trump in the 2020 presidential election, and some agents say it is no coincidence. More than 4,000 federal agents have left the Border Patrol since October 2020. Twice as many agents have chosen to retire early compared to retirement rates during the Obama and Trump administrations. In recent years, Border Patrol agents have lamented that the Biden administration’s immigration policy has caused a crisis that has sunk morale, but the new data provided by U.S. Customs and Border Protection confirmed that far more agents are choosing to leave than normal. “The administration is so bad for ...

Devotional: What the Old and New Testament have to say on immigration

By Drake Hunter | Special Contributor The contributions of immigrants have enriched our country's strength and diversity, a fact that we should all appreciate. The treatment of immigrants, whether they are legal or illegal, has been a topic of discussion throughout history, including in modern times. Even the Bible has references to this topic. In the Old Testament, Moses instructs the Israelites on how to treat immigrants, emphasizing the importance of protecting and treating them fairly and compassionately. His words provide a blueprint for treating strangers justly, mentioning their concerns over 35 times and offering specific instructions about citizenship rights, land ownership and immigrant guidelines. The Old Testament favors the justice side of the discussion. Neverthel...

There have been 143 KSTs apprehended at the northern border through the first six months of this fiscal year compared to 92 at the southwest border, according to the most recent CBP data. Top Border Patrol officials say Biden appointees silenced them for years

By Anna Giaritelli | Colorado Politics The recently retired second in command of the U.S. Border Patrol said the Biden administration intentionally blocked him and others from engaging with the public, enacting robust protocols to sabotage media requests as millions surged across the southern border. In an interview with the Washington Examiner, recently retired Border Patrol Deputy Chief Matthew Hudak spoke out for the first time since his departure and accused White House appointees within the Department of Homeland Security of policing the police's media presence. "Dealing with this tidal wave of humanity that was hitting our border on a daily basis — very quickly, news stories, statements being put out condemning our agents, being critical of their eff...

Fake nursing home was used to smuggle illegal immigrants into country

By Stephen Dinan  | The Washington Times Border Patrol agents were miffed when they saw an ambulance roll up to a Texas highway checkpoint in August 2022 and discovered an illegal immigrant being smuggled inside. Now, nearly two years later, authorities say that ambulance was part of a broader smuggling operation that involved a fake assisted living facility that was supposedly moving patients from one location to another. In reality, the patients on the gurneys were illegal immigrants, according to investigators. Jesus Cantu-Trevino was arrested by the Texas Attorney General’s Medicaid Fraud Control Unit and U.S. Homeland Security and charged with conspiracy to commit alien smuggling. The Illegal Alien NICS Alert Act, authored by Sen. Tom Cotton, R-Ark., and co-sponsored by Sens. Joni Ernst, R-Iowa, Cynthia Lummis, R-Wyo., John Boozman, R-Ark, and Thom Tillis, R-N.C., would change the system. ‘Citizens are not safe coming to the state capitol’, Rep. Holtorf says on Stinchfield

By BRIAN PORTER | Rocky Mountain Voice Anyone choosing to visit the state's capitol is doing so at their own peril in Colorado, Minority House Whip Rep. Richard Holtorf told Grant Stinchfield during a recent appearance on Real America's Voice. "Denver citizens and Colorado citizens are not safe coming to the state capitol, or the capitol of Colorado," he said in a video clip posted on his Twitter/X account. He's critical of City of Denver budget reductions, some to police in the state's capitol city, at the same time as out-of-control illegal migration, the clip details. He also details a concern toward crime related to illegal immigrants being unable to find work. "When these immigrants can't find jobs, they're going to turn to crime," Holtorf said. Fluent in Spanish, Holto...
