Trump calls for deportation after fatal crash by illegal teen driver in Aurora

By Shaun Boyd | CBS Colorado A teenager who was driving illegally and was in the country illegally when he struck and killed a young Colorado woman in Aurora is now in the custody of Immigration and Customs Enforcement. The driver, who was 15 years old at the time of the 2024 crash, pleaded guilty to a felony in the death of 24-year-old Kaitlyn Weaver. Investigators say he was doing 90 miles per hour in a 45 mile per hour zone when he plowed into her car. Weaver's parents spoke exclusively to Your Reporter Shaun Boyd after the 18th Judicial District Attorney's Office offered the teen a plea deal that included no jail time. The story went viral, prompting some outrage. "I had people from New York, from Nevada and people up in the Pacific Northwest all hear about it," J...

$1B in home loans: Company markets mortgages to illegal immigrants

By Spencer Lindquist | Daily Wire The Prysma Lending Group gives mortgages to illegals, 'No Social Security or Green Card required.' After decades of mass illegal immigration into the United States, untold millions of illegal aliens have settled throughout the country, competing with Americans for government benefits, jobs, and now, for homes. For most illegal aliens, obtaining a mortgage from a traditional bank — without a social security number or a credit score — is nearly impossible. But as millions of illegal aliens flooded the country, a new industry has cropped up to capitalize on the new customer base, selling financing catered to the illegal population. One entity at the forefront of this industry, a Daily Wire investigation has revealed, is Prysma Lending, which has g...

SB276 would fine deputies $50K for helping ICE—Sheriff Mikesell says enough is enough

By Pat Hill | Pikes Peak Courier via Denver Gazette Teller County Sheriff Jason Mikesell is so concerned about the effects of Colorado Senate Bill #276 he appealed in a letter to Immigration and Customs Enforcement last week. The bill, if signed by Gov. Jared Polis, prohibits law enforcement from sharing information with the federal government about illegal immigrants who have committed crimes. At issue is the bill’s interference with Mikesell’s 287(g) agreement with ICE. The only sheriff in Colorado to have signed the agreement, Mikesell was sued over the issue by the ACLU in 2019. After a series of wins, losses and appeals by both parties, in February, Mikesell retained his ability to work with ICE to detain illegal immigrants who commit crimes. However, if the governor do...

Illegal immigrant stole $400,000 in benefits and voted in U.S. elections, DOJ reports

By Jack Davis | The Western Journal A Colombian woman who masqueraded as an American citizen for more than 20 years has been indicted for identity theft. The woman received rental assistance, Social Security and SNAP benefits under a phony name, according to a Department of Justice news release, and also was able to vote. Through use of the fake identity, she obtained a REAL ID in Massachusetts as well as eight other state IDs. A court filing said the suspect obtained her first state ID – a learner’s permit – in 2004 by using a false identity. The filing indicated that officials who vetted her passport application in November 2024 were the first to catch on to the fraud that had been taking place. After being initially arrested and indicted in February, Lina M...

“I feel trauma”: Former Denver Democrat says migrants brought violence, backs Trump

By Ben Chapman | GB News A Denver resident who once advocated for immigrant rights has revealed how her political allegiance shifted from the Democrats to Donald Trump due to concerns over crime and border security. Speaking to GB News, the woman explained her dramatic change of heart: "I was planning on voting for Kamala Harris but I could not bring myself to do it. If it was not for Donald Trump, we might still be living next to gang members because everything changed after he was elected." The resident, who previously ran a group called "Teachers United for Immigrant Rights", now supports stricter border controls after experiencing violence in her neighbourhood. Her husband detailed the shocking level of violence they experienced: "I've walked out here watering my garden and...

ICE’s gang member deportations linked to sharp drop in Denver, Aurora murder rates

By Warner Todd Huston | Breitbart New data shows that homicides in Denver and Aurora, Colorado, have experienced a significant drop in the wake of Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s (ICE) efforts to take down the Tren de Aragua gang members that had been causing so much chaos in the area. But local Americans are still being killed by President Joe Biden’s migrants, including a 24-year-old woman killed in July of 2024 in Aurora by a 15-year-old reckless illegal-migrant driver. The local prosecutor just offered a sweetheart probation and community service deal to the youth migrant who is now applying for humanitarian asylum. The numbers have taken a significant downturn in the first quarter of 2025, according to data from the Major Cities Chiefs Association, KSUA-TV reported. ...

Polis open to signing bill restricting local ICE cooperation as Colorado sanctuary debate heats up

By Luige Del Puerto | Colorado Politics Gov. Jared Polis said that while he had "major problems" with an earlier proposal that sought to inoculate immigrants from federal policies, the bill now includes "workable language," thereby signaling his intent to sign it. The governor reiterated he is still reviewing the proposal, which underwent several changes before its final passage during the 2025 legislative session. At its core, Senate Bill 276 reemphasized existing state law that precludes local law enforcers from detaining an individual based on an "immigration detainer." An immigration "detainer" is a notice issued to federal, state and local law enforcement agencies informing the latter that agents intend to assume custody of an individual no longer subject to the former's dete...

Colorado Springs City Council passes third resolution rejecting sanctuary city label

By Brennen Kauffman | Denver Gazette Colorado Springs is still not a "sanctuary city." The City Council drove the point home on Tuesday morning by passing a resolution affirming the stance. The resolution introduced by Councilmember Roland Rainey was along similar lines as resolutions the council passed in both February and September 2024 saying the city was not a sanctuary city. The council statements do not change any city laws or ordinances. Four new council members have joined the dais since the last version of the proclamations, including Rainey and Gold, but the outcome of the vote was along similar lines. The resolution passed 7-2 with opposition from Nancy Henjum and Kimberly Gold, who said the city should use funding to support law enforcement instead of words. ...
