U.S. confirms departure from Paris climate deal

By Simon Kent | Breitbart Washington notified the United Nations on Tuesday to confirm it is delivering on a key campaign pledge of President Donald Trump and withdrawing from the Paris Climate Agreement to put U.S. energy and job growth first. On his first day back in the White House, Trump announced America would leave the accord, which is managed by the U.N. climate change body. “In recent years, the United States has purported to join international agreements and initiatives that do not reflect our country’s values or our contributions to the pursuit of economic and environmental objectives,” Trump’s executive order read. Franz: California’s fires show environmentalist policies can have deadly results

By  Danielle B. Franz | Commentary, National Review Ignoring basic forest stewardship while crying ‘climate change’ is nothing more than a convenient excuse to justify inaction. Tens of thousands of acres have gone up in flames in Los Angeles County, a tragedy made all the more infuriating by the fact that it was entirely preventable. California’s leaders knew this could happen — yet they chose inaction, distractions, and virtue-signaling over protecting their citizens. Governor Gavin Newsom’s priorities have been astonishingly misplaced. To appease radical environmentalists, he pushed forward initiatives to remove dams, under the guise of protecting marine species, and thereby handicapped water supplies for crucial uses such as preventing and fighting wildfires. Not unrelate...

Linnebur: In the battle of flames and bureaucracy, these are streamlining solutions for Colorado’s wildfire crisis

By Tyler Linnebur | ConservAmerica On Tuesday, July 30, Colorado Gov. Jared Polis declared disaster emergencies for multiple wildfires and activated the state emergency operations plan. These major fires, fueled by extreme heat and dry conditions, are raging across thousands of acres near Loveland, Lyons, and Jefferson County. Tragically, at least one person has died, and multiple homes have been destroyed.  This devastating scenario has become increasingly common in recent years because of drought, poor forest management\ and ineffective environmental policies. Massive fires cause extensive property damage, force evacuations and degrade air quality. The ecological toll is significant, destroying wildlife habitats and damaging watersheds. Several factors contribute to the severi...

Report: Colorado can and should improve energy permitting process

By Joe Mueller | The Center Square Colorado can improve its procedures, public input, timelines and coordination of state, federal and local governments to improve the environmental permitting process, according to a report. The state made significant progress in reforming regulatory processes in the past decade but improvements need to be made, according to James Broughel, a senior fellow at the conservative Competitive Enterprise Institute and author of the report, “Distilling Efficiency; Colorado’s quest to refine its permitting process.” “The state appears to be moving in the wrong direction with recent changes targeting the oil and gas industry, which have created a more burdensome permitting environment,” according to the report. “Enacting targeted legislative changes, insti...

Cooke: Oppressive EPA emissions standard will cost Coloradans plenty

By Amy Oliver Cooke | Complete Colorado There’s so much gaslighting in the Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) recently announced vehicle emissions standards, it may be guilty of expanding the Biden Administration’s carbon footprint simply with the news release. The EPA’s announcement claims its “strongest-ever” emissions standards will: Expand consumer choice in clean vehicles Protect Public Health Address the Climate Crisis Save Drivers Money The reality is that the new standards won’t do much, if anything, for the environment. They will cost consumers more money, reduce vehicle choices, and harm public health. Most egregious is the dictatorial nature of Washington, D.C. deciding for Americans across our vast nation how they can exercise their mobility freedom....
