Biden-Cheney: You read it here first | SONDERMANN

By Eric Sondermann | SOURCE: COLORADO POLITICS Desperate times call for desperate measures. For Democrats, a party I left more than a quarter-century ago in favor of unaffiliated status and independent mind, their current situation would seem to qualify. Arguably, the same would apply for a broader swath of Americans if we are to take seriously concerns as to what a second Trump presidency could bring. To the partisan lens first, Democrats need not be in a full-blown panic. But what is the alarm bell just one step shy of that? Here in late January, Democrats find themselves with a hollowed-out, underwhelming incumbent with approval ratings deeply underwater. On top of that, the issue set for huge numbers of voters works against them. READ FULL ARTICLE ON COLORADOPOLITICS....

11 States Urge U.S. Supreme Court to Protect Presidential Primary Ballot Integrity

SOURCE: THELOBBY-CO.COM A group of 11 states have filed a brief with the U.S. Supreme Court, urging the court to overrule Colorado in a case involving former President Donald Trump's removal from the state's Republican presidential primary ballot. The case raises concerns about the potential misuse of the U.S. Constitution by states to remove candidates from their primary ballots, a move that could have far-reaching consequences for the integrity of our electoral process. Missouri Republican Secretary of State Jay Ashcroft, who led the coalition, expressed deep concerns about the case, saying in a statement, "This has the potential to tear our nation apart if left unchecked." The group of state election officials submitted an amicus or "friend of the court" brief, emphasizing that...

SOURCE: THELOBBY-CO.COM Colorado Representative and now carpetbagger Lauren Boebert's recent comments about teen pregnancy and her own experiences with contraception have sparked controversy and raised questions about her permissive attitude towards this issue. Both have drawn criticism from conservatives who believe in promoting responsible behavior and traditional family values. During a House Oversight Committee hearing in May 2023, Boebert shared a personal story about the conception of her third son. She revealed that she couldn't afford her birth control prescription and decided to forgo it, leading to her unintended third pregnancy. https://www.youtube.com/embed/lvJGyRd0EJA?feature=oembed&enablejsapi=1 May 23, 2023 "My staff is probably going to talk to me about...

Justin Everett as its Colorado state director, the Colorado Republican Party announced Friday, The move comes less than a month before mail ballots are set to go out for Colorado's March 5 presidential primary, where Trump is set to face three other Republicans in a vote to determine how the state GOP will apportion delegates to the Republican National Convention. On Sunday, the state Republican central committee formally endorsed Trump in an unprecedented break from the party's longstanding practice of staying neutral in primaries. A lot of people want to run for office in Colorado this year. Here’s what it takes to actually get on the ballot.

By Sandra Fish, Colorado Sun The 2024 general election is less than 11 months away and a wave of candidates are filing paperwork to run in Colorado’s eight congressional districts, 16 state Senate districts and 65 House districts. But jumping into a race doesn’t guarantee someone a spot on the ballot for the June 25 primary, let alone the Nov. 5 general election. Candidates must spend big money to qualify for the contest, or they can try to pick up enough support from members of their political party through what’s called the caucus and assembly process. The mad dash to make the ballot is underway, as the primary ballot must be set by April 26.  READ FULL ARTICLE ON COLORADOSUN.COM

Former President Trump Challenges Supreme Court Decision in Colorado Ballot Case, Warns of ‘Chaos and Bedlam’

SOURCE: THELOBBY-CO.COM Former President Trump filed a brief with the Supreme Court on Thursday, challenging a decision by Colorado's highest court to remove him from the state's 2024 ballot. Trump urged the justices to swiftly and decisively end efforts to disqualify him from the presidential ballot in Colorado. Trump argues that these efforts not only threaten to disenfranchise tens of millions of Americans but also have the potential to unleash ‘chaos and bedlam’ across the nation. In his main filing to the court ahead of the oral arguments on February 8, Trump seeks to overturn a bombshell decision by a Colorado court that could keep him off the state's ballot due to his alleged connection to the violence at the U.S. Capitol on January 6, 2021. Despite the upcoming argu...

Tim Scott will endorse Donald Trump in blow to Nikki Haley

By Julia Johnson, Washington Examiner | SOURCE: THE GAZETTE Sen. Tim Scott (R-SC) will endorse former President Donald Trump for the Republican presidential nomination on Friday in a blow to his fellow South Carolinian, former Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley. Scott, who ended his own presidential bid in the fall, plans to endorse Trump at a rally in New Hampshire, just days before the state's first-in-the-nation primary, a source familiar confirmed to the Washington Examiner. The choice to back Trump rather than Haley is particularly significant, given Haley and Scott's history. When Haley was governor of South Carolina, she appointed Scott to the Senate in 2012 to replace former Sen. Jim DeMint. READ FULL ARTICLE ON GAZETTE.COM
