In early returns, he collected decisive victories in Douglas, El Paso, Jefferson, Mesa and Weld, taking victories in all but three counties in early returns from the Western Slope to the Eastern Plains. Nikki Haley was leading by about 4,000 votes in Denver County, where she held a campaign event and also in Eagle and Routt Counties.
