House passes ‘one big, beautiful bill’ in massive win for Trump

By Daniel Chaitin | Daily Wire In a significant victory for President Donald Trump, the Republican-led House early Thursday morning passed what the president has championed as the “one big, beautiful bill,” with enough Republican holdouts coming around to support the comprehensive tax and budget package. Trump met with House Republicans two days in a row as they hashed out last-minute changes to win over members from high-tax blue states who wanted a higher state and local tax (SALT) deduction cap and fiscal hawks who demanded more spending cuts. The final vote, a close 215-214, followed back-to-back all-night sessions in the Rules Committee and on the House floor. “We planned and we worked and we locked arms together as a team. And we have delivered this against all odds,” House ...

Gabel: Why I have no beef with President Trump’s beef tariffs

By Rachel Gabel | Commentary, Colorado Politics President Donald Trump’s tariffs should be on the radar of every agriculture producer in the U.S. Our country is not only the top producer of beef at 12.1 million metric tons annually, but also the top importer of beef, consuming 12.7 metric tons annually. There are hundreds of other ag commodities that rely on trade, of course, but beef is on my radar. One of the countries at the top of the beef tariff list is Australia, which is one of the countries that imports no American beef, a result of a 2003 restriction following a North American outbreak of bovine spongiform encephalopathy, or mad cow disease. Our country, however, imports $4.8 billion in Australian beef annually, making the U.S. Australia’s largest beef market. Japan, Mexi...

Appeals court rejects Trump bid to pause federal funding freeze ruling

By Jack Birle | Washington Examiner A federal appeals court rejected the Trump administration‘s efforts to pause federal aid through an Office of Management and Budget memorandum Wednesday, upholding a lower court’s ruling. The Trump administration attempted to pursue a blanket pause of federal aid disbursements pending a review of the various spending items in January, but the order was blocked by a federal circuit court after several lawsuits, including one by more than a dozen state attorneys general. Despite the Trump administration rescinding the memo, the court still pushed forward with haulting the blanket pause. READ THE FULL STORY AT WASHINGTON EXAMINER

President Trump calls Colorado Capitol portrait ‘distorted,’ blames Gov. Polis

By Heather Willard | Fox 31 News DENVER (KDVR) — President Donald Trump took to Truth Social on Sunday to disparage a portrait of himself that has hung in the Colorado Capitol since 2019. The Colorado Republican party collected over $10,000 in donations for Trump’s portrait in 2018, which was overseen by Colorado Citizens for Culture. The oil painting was commissioned by the Colorado GOP from Sarah Boardman, who also painted the Colorado Capitol’s portrait of former President Barack Obama.AOC, Sanders speak to over 30K in Denver in ‘biggest political event since Obama 2008’ However, Trump took issue with the painting on Sunday, posting to Truth Social that his Colorado portrait “was purposefully distorted.” "Nobody likes a bad picture or painting of themselves, b...

Trump’s victory lap at DOJ

By Julie Kelly | Substack On March 14, 2024, I was in the media room at the federal courthouse in Fort Pierce, Florida. District Court Judge Aileen Cannon at the time was presiding over a hearing on two motions filed by defense lawyers representing Donald Trump and his co-defendants seeking to dismiss the classified documents indictment handed down by then Special Counsel Jack Smith in June 2023. My report on the proceedings is here. Trump’s defense lawyers, Todd Blanche and Emil Bove, were in the courtroom that day representing the president. They were simultaneously defending Trump in the case brought by Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg; it was a fraught time as the president also faced a separate federal criminal indictment in Washington related to January 6. (Those proc...

‘Who’s that who sat next to Gabe Evans at Trump’s speech?’ It was the mother of a Northern Colorado fentanyl victim

By Brian Porter | Rocky Mountain Voice If you tuned in to President Donald J. Trump's Address to the Nation on Tuesday, March 4, during a joint session of Congress, you might have gotten a glimpse of a number of lawmakers. One could be U.S. Rep. Gabe Evans, the representative from Colorado's 8th District. And seated next to him, you ask? That was Liz Hardy, who in the early hours of Jan. 1, 2022, tragically lost her middle daughter, Brooke. She consumed half of a counterfeit pill laced with a lethal amount of fentanyl. Brooke attempted to call 911 but could not give an address or reason for her call, and soon died. “One time, half a pill, and life for our family changed forever," Liz Hardy said. "If it were not for our faith in Christ, knowing we will see Brooke again one day, ...

Zelensky’s PR Problem: Americans are on Trump’s Side

By MIG Reports Key Takeaways: Trump’s recent comments about Ukraine President Zelensky are impacting American support for Ukraine aid. While many liberals still view solidarity with Ukraine as a moral imperative, appetite for military or financial aid is quickly drying up in both political parties. Republicans overwhelmingly support Trump’s strategy for dealing with the Ukraine-Russia conflict, often viewing Zelensky as a dictator. American sentiment toward Ukraine and its president Volodymyr Zelensky continues to deteriorate. Since the end of the Biden administration, the financial burden with uncertain benefits have been souring American taxpayers on what was once a largely supported cause. The rhetoric between Trump and Zelensky has escalated, bringing out frustration i...
