Devotional: ‘It’s not dying I’m talking about, it’s living’

By Drake Hunter | Guest Columnist Losing a loved one is one of the most painful experiences in life, especially when it happens in tragic circumstances. My friend, Delilah Maly, knows this pain all too well, after losing her son and my dear friend, Ethan Dow, on April 20, 2024. Ethan was only 22 years old and had so much potential, but he struggled with many issues in life. However, rather than dwelling on the problems up front, let's honor Ethan's memory with compassion and learn from his story. Doing so can create a world where people like Ethan find hope, healing and support to overcome challenges and discover renewed purpose in life. Devotional: Believe to understand, never the other way around!

By Drake Hunter | Guest Columnist Living life is a journey that can be challenging at times; understanding it can be pretty mind-boggling. It requires belief and faith to guide us through the ups and downs of reality, especially in the worst times. Your worldview is a blend of your beliefs, influencing how you perceive things, interact with others, and even present yourself to the world. It's a powerful force that determines destination. As a Christian, I firmly believe that our destiny is to live with unwavering faith in the one true God — El Olam, trusting Him always. This eternal faith paves the way to our ultimate destiny (Psalms 33:11). It's a beautiful and inspiring way to live for those who honestly Just Believe. Authentic Christians center their lives around following Jesus Christ, who shows us the way to Truth. Jesus' worldview is sub...

Devotional: Pursue ‘a good life’ to attain ‘the good life’

By Drake Hunter | Guest Commentary Have you observed the world and noticed its unraveling state? It's undeniable; things are falling apart (Genesis 3:24)! What was familiar is now collapsing, and life is slipping away at an alarming pace. This disheartening reality goes against the notion life is meant to be good, very good (Genesis 1:31)! So, what went wrong? Essentially, people began exchanging “a good life” to chase “the good life,” leading to the deterioration of ourselves, our relationships, and our world. But there is hope, and we must seize it if we just believe and “Arise From the Fall.” The distinction between having “a good life” and attaining “the good life” hinges on a single word, and placing faith in the wrong one can lead to a collapse of life. Generally, people ...
