NGOs shutter migrant shelters as releases end and money dries up

By Randy Clark | Breitbart Non-Government Migrant Shelters (NGOs) are feeling the impact as illegal entries continue to dwindle across the southwest border after President Trump’s swift actions to control the border and carry out mass deportations. Non-profit organizations that received hundreds of millions of dollars from the federal government under the Biden Administration began to close their doors. From Texas to California, the shelters that once counted on a steady flow of cash from the U.S. Federal Emergency Management Agency’s (FEMA) Food and Shelter Program and later by FEMA and Customs and Border Protection jointly under the Shelter and Services Program are no longer receiving released asylum-seeking migrants from the Department of Homeland Security. The released migrants,...

Man accused of burning woman to death on NYC subway is previously deported illegal alien

By Jennie Taer, Joe Marino and Jorge Fitz-Gibbon | The New York Post The illegal Guatemalan migrant accused of setting a straphanger on fire and gawking as she burned to death was once deported — but sneaked back into the US and the Big Apple shelter system, sources told The Post.  The accused firebug, who has not yet been charged, first entered the US illegally at the Arizona border in 2018, but was nabbed just days later and shipped back home.  He later crossed the border again, dodging federal agents and finding his way north to the five boroughs — although it is unclear how long he was in the city before the horrific F train attack Sunday, the sources said.  READ THE FULL STORY AT THE NEW YORK POST

Rand Paul suggests Denver mayor opposing deportations is ‘a form of insurrection’

By Asher Notheis | Washington Examiner Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) warned that Denver Mayor Mike Johnston could face legal repercussions over his opposition to President-elect Donald Trump‘s proposed mass deportations of illegal immigrants. Johnston is one of several mayors who have stated they will not assist the incoming Trump administration with its deportation plan, stating that Denver would “continue to be a welcoming, open, big-hearted city.” Paul, who has expressed criticism of Trump’s plan to use the Army to carry out his deportation plan, warned the mayor that his resistance could be taken to the Supreme Court, where he could potentially be removed from office. “I don’t know whether or not there would be a criminal prosecution for someone resisting federal l...

‘Like Tiananmen square’: Denver mayor vows city police, population will forcibly resist Trump deportation measures

By Christian Baldwin | The Daily Caller Democrat Denver Mayor Mike Johnston vowed that his city’s police and population would resist President-elect Donald Trump’s deportation agenda in an interview Tuesday with the Denverite while comparing Trump and federal deportations to the Chinese Communist Party.  “Absolutely not,” Johnston said when asked about whether his office would allow the Denver Police Department (DPD) to cooperate with future Trump administration deportation measures. “We won’t do it.”   Johnston proposed that local law enforcement could be used to block any attempts by the incoming Trump administration to enforce U.S. immigration law. He also suggested that the city’s population would come out in force to interfere with federal immigration enforcement officer...

Donald Trump Picks Tom Homan to Oversee Border Security, Deportations

Homan is an experienced border officer who served as acting chief of the vital Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency in 2017 and 2018. The agency is responsible for finding, arresting, and deporting illegal migrants. Homan strongly supported Trump during the 2024 election. However, the statement did not say Homan would be nominated to run the Department of Homeland Security or the ICE agency. If nominated and confirmed by the Senate for either job, he would have the funding, personnel, and legal authority to deport many illegal migrants. READ THE FULL STORY AT BREITBART
