Train service at Denver International Airport to be disrupted for maintenance this week

By Jennifer McRae | CBS Colorado Trains at Denver International Airport are scheduled to undergo maintenance this week which will create a partial suspension of service. Trains will not operate between the terminal and Concourse A overnight for two nights. Passengers will use the bridge instead. DIA in ‘final phase’ of construction, but finished look will take years

While the project is in its final stages, there are still a few more years to go. DIA has been working on one major project for over three years: The Great Hall Project — a plan that aims to accommodate the airport’s growing size. While it might feel like there has been construction inside the airport for a long time, many visible parts of the project should wrap up within the next year, according to DIA spokesperson Michael Konopasek. Flying out of DIA? In many cases, your walk to gate could be well over a mile

By Spencer McKee | Out There Colorado If you think you're walking a bit far to reach your gate at Denver International Airport, you might not be wrong – but then again, it is one of the busiest airports in the country. A recent piece from Reader's Digest took at look at how long some people have to walk to reach their gate at various airports around the country, and while DIA didn't snag the first place spot for 'longest walk,' it did end up ranking 4th. The longest 'airport walk' nationwide is found at Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport, coming in at a distance of 2.16 miles. Denver Airport preparing for busiest Independence Day travel week on record

By Brian Sherrod | CBS Colorado The Transportation Security Administration tells CBS Colorado they are expecting the 4th of July  holiday week to be the busiest on record for them. The TSA tells CBS Colorado on June 30 security workers screened more than 86,000 people at the Denver International Airport.  That was their fourth busiest day. CBS Colorado First Alert Traffic Tracker Reporter Brian Sherrod took a tour with the TSA to show how the agency hopes to get travelers to the lines faster. The TSA is using face recognition machines. The machines scan your government ID for basic information including your name and age and it reveals your boarding information in 10 seconds. FAA, United investigate video showing ‘unauthorized person’ in flight deck during Rockies flight

By Sydney Isenberg | Denver 7 The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and United Airlines have launched investigations after a video reportedly showed an "unauthorized person" in the flight deck during a Colorado Rockies flight. The Wall Street Journal was the first to report the incident. The FAA and United Airlines did not confirm details of the incident.
