According to a social media report, deputies responded to a 911 call at around 9:20 a.m. Wednesday from someone who saw the baby boy only in his diaper sitting in a car seat on a median near 7490 Pecos St. and stopped to help. The area is a busy roadway that’s near an intersection with U.S. Highway 36. The Adams County Sheriff’s Office said it had arrested the child’s biological parents and was seeking to charge them with felony child abuse. The Aurora Police Department’s bomb unit was on scene to investigate a bomb threat reported inside the King Soopers store located in the shopping center. Police issued a shelter-in-place order for residents from Cornell Avenue to East Dartmouth Avenue and from Peoria Street to Interstate 25, which was lifted at about 6:30 p.m. During the investigation, the intersection was closed to traffic. By Heather Willard | Fox 21 After over a year of investigating, the Colorado Bureau of Investigation said a comprehensive review of a former forensic scientist has been completed. In doing so, the agency found that about 1,003 cases were impacted in her nearly 30-year career. The agency previously announced that 652 cases between 2008 and 2023 were identified as being affected by the scientist’s data manipulation. On Nov. 6, 2023, CBI announced that Yvonne “Missy” Woods, a forensic scientist within the agency for about 29 years, was no longer working there and was subject to internal affairs and criminal investigations because of DNA anomalies in her work. A blog post from the resort says the gondola had a mechanical issue at 12:15 p.m. on Saturday and immediately shut down as it is designed to do. Patrollers evacuated guests from the gondola.
