4 dead, one in custody in shooting at Apalachee H.S. in Barrow County, Ga., sources say

By Timothy H.J. Nerozzi , Stephen Sorace | Fox News At least four people are dead Wednesday after a shooting at a high school in north central Georgia put the building on lockdown, authorities said. The Georgia Bureau of Investigation confirmed that four people died at Apalachee High School in Barrow County, Georgia — approximately 40 miles northeast of Atlanta – and nine others were taken to various hospitals with injuries. The suspect is alive and in custody. "At approximately 10:23 a.m. officers from multiple law enforcement agencies and Fire/EMS personnel were dispatched to the high school in reference to a reported active shooting," the Barrow County Sheriff's Office said in a statement.  READ THE FULL STORY AT FOX NEWS

Recovery efforts to resume Wednesday for six Key Bridge construction workers believed to be dead

By LIA RUSSELL and DILLON MULLAN | The Baltimore Sun Authorities will resume searching Wednesday for six missing construction workers who fell into the Patapsco River after a cargo vessel struck the Francis Scott Key Bridge in Baltimore early Tuesday morning. Gov. Wes Moore and representatives from the U.S. Coast Guard and Maryland State Police said Tuesday evening during a news conference in Dundalk that they would transition to a recovery operation to find the six men, who have not been officially identified, and are presumed to be dead after they fell into the river following the bridge’s collapse at 1:27 a.m. Tuesday.
