Boebert sounds alarm on massive Biden-Harris Admin land grab in Western Colorado

By Jen Schumann | Contributor, Rocky Mountain Voice U.S. Rep. Lauren Boebert is sounding the alarm over a land grab by the Biden-Harris Administration's Bureau of Land Management. The BLM's new resource management plans target 183 million acres of public lands in the West. They prioritize conservation, including habitat protection for the Gunnison Sage-Grouse. Joining Boebert in opposition to the plans are Bruce Westerman, the chairman of the House Natural Resources Committee, and Chelsie Miera, the executive director of the Western Slope Oil & Gas Association. They worry about the economic fallout from such land management decisions in Colorado and Utah. The BLM recently made amendments to 11 Resource Management Plans (RMPs) in Colorado and Utah, which impacts vast areas o...

FEC filings contradict Democrat Frisch’s claims that he doesn’t take corporate PAC money

By Lindy Browning | Contributor, Rocky Mountain Voice Adam Frisch, the Democratic nominee for Colorado’s 3rd Congressional District, has told his supporters in person, in debates, on social media and on national television, that he does not take corporate or PAC money.  The claims just don’t track with his own campaign filings to the Federal Election Commission (FEC). Neither does the fact that he has more than $13 million dollars in his campaign account. According to FEC records, Frisch has received 528 corporate donations through political-action committees. [See file at bottom of story] Frisch’s PAC donors include ACTBLUE, BLUEHEN, Progressive Turnout Project, Democrats Reshaping America PAC, Progressive Choices PAC, Jeffries For Congress, and Beyond Thoughts And Prayer...

Adam Frisch, Jeff Hurd meet for likely their final 3rd District debate in Pueblo

By Lindy Browning | Contributor, Rocky Mountain Voice The last meeting between Colorado’s 3rd Congressional District candidates, Democrat Adam Frisch and Republican candidate Jeff Hurd, took place Monday, Sept. 30, at the Hoag Theater in Pueblo. From the beginning of the debate it was clear that moderator Earnest Luning was going to ask the candidates some difficult questions and he wanted specific answers. At some points during the debate, he asked follow up questions to get more specific answers for the public. Luning, representing Colorado Politics, set the tone of the debate by asking both candidates how they were going to work with U.S. Rep. Lauren Bobert, who has represented the 3rd District and is now running in the 4th District in Northern Colorado and on the Eastern Plain...

Sherri Wright’s journey from cultivating fields to children lends to candidacy for state board of education

By Jen Schumann | Contributor, Rocky Mountain Voice Sherri Wright is as rooted in Colorado soil as the hay she grows on her 300-acre farm. Instead of her fields, she's been cultivating her 3rd District campaign for a seat on Colorado's State Board of Education. She's spent the last six weeks crisscrossing the district, racking up more than 5,000 miles on her truck. From the Four Corners to the Wyoming state line, Wright is dedicated to meeting with voters and sharing her vision for the future of Colorado’s schools. "Today, I’m up here instead of working my fields,” Wright said during a recent candidate forum in Delta County. "But the situation in our schools requires our attention. So, all I need from you is a heads up and I will show up for our families." With more than 40 ...

Frisch commits to support Joe Biden in Democratic forum

By BRIAN PORTER | The Rocky Mountain Voice Adam Frisch, unopposed in his second primary run as a Democrat in Colorado’s 3rd Congressional District, has flipped on his previous position to let the “presidential race play out and see what happens." He previously lost the seat to Republican Lauren Boebert in 2022, who has since relocated to Windsor in the 4th District, where she is vying to return to Congress. In an Axios Denver report in August 2023, Frisch indicated he would not support President Joe Biden. Biden’s favorability was 20 points under water in 3rd District polling at the time, Axios reported. In a Demoractic forum last week, Frisch sang a different tune when pressed on whether he would support the Democratic Party’s nominee – presumedly Joe Biden – or his longtim...
