Residents want Weld County to declare it is non-sanctuary for illegal immigrants

By BRIAN PORTER | The Rocky Mountain Voice GREELEY – There was a time, Weld County Sheriff Steve Reams recalls, when local law enforcement in Colorado had the capacity to better work with federal immigration officers. It all ended when Gov. Jared Polis signed Democrat-supported House Bill 1124 into law in 2019. “What this law said was I cannot work with ICE,” Reams told those gathered Wednesday for a town hall meeting here at the Weld County administration offices. A summary of HB 19-1124 indicates it prohibits “a law enforcement officer from arresting or detaining an individual solely on the basis of a civil immigration detainer.” At issue for many in Weld County is whether or not the county is a sanctuary to illegal immigrants, regardless of whether the state has become on...

Colorado’s Circular Firing Squad on the 2nd Amendment

By The Colorado Freedom Force Whether the decided-upon strategy of the anti-2nd Amendment legislators in Colorado is “Throw everything up against the wall and see what sticks”, or just “divide and conquer”, their numerous attempts at whittling away at the 2nd Amendment can be hard to keep up with. From a straightforward “assault weapons” ban to imposing more fees or adding an 11% excise tax to guns and ammunition, Colorado’s Democrats have formed a circular firing squad around this fundamental right. You can learn about all seven active bills, use online forms to contact your representatives or read the entirety of a bill through the Colorado Freedom Force website. There are 544 bills to have been introduced. The inevitable list of really bad bills, and some good ones (that are probably destined to a party-line defeat) is growing at a very fast pace. Lundberg attempts to ease the madness in his report of the list of “Significant Bills for 2024”.

This was an amazing night, an amazing day; it has been an incredible period of time.” A handful of opponents were whittled down to one by Super Tuesday, and by Wednesday morning his only remaining opponent, Nikki Haley, suspended her campaign.  In a post on Truth social, Trump called for Haley’s supporters to unify under him and “join the greatest movement in the history of our nation.” In Colorado, he won the Republican primary by 30 percentage points, taking victories in 57 of 64 coun...
