Reclaiming George Washington’s legacy: The truth behind President’s Day

By Tori Ganahl | Rocky Mountain Voice In the heart of winter, Americans pause to remember one of the nation's greatest leaders, George Washington. Yet, as the holiday season unfolds, the true essence of Washington's Birthday often gets lost in the shuffle of modern interpretations. Since 1879, February 22nd has stood as a testament to the exemplary leadership of George Washington, with the federal government recognizing it as an official holiday. However, over time, the solemnity of this occasion has been diluted by efforts to broaden its scope. George Washington, a paragon of humility, would have likely eschewed the grandeur associated with modern celebrations. Instead, he remained focused on serving his country, even on his own birthday. Despite his modesty, the reverence for Wa...

By Haley Chi-Sing | Fox News Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy extended an offer to Former President Trump to visit Ukraine and even take him to the front lines, during his appearance Saturday at the Munich Security Conference.  "If Mr. Trump will come, I am ready even to go with him to the front line," Zelenskkyy said on Saturday, followed by applause from the audience.  "I think if we are in dialogue how to finish the war, we have to demonstrate people who are decision-makers, what does it mean — the real war. The crazy things Biden’s anti-coal crusade will do to ordinary Americans

By Roger Hanshaw | Fox News The Biden administration’s approach to energy policy ignores the importance of coal and baseload electricity demands.  President Joe Biden revealed as much in a speech last year, announcing that the U.S. will "be shutting these plants down all across America and having wind and solar." Further, Biden's Climate Envoy John Kerry stated at the UN climate conference COP28 that, "we will be working to accelerate unabated coal phase-out across the world."  The Biden administration is determined to eliminate coal-fired power plants in the name of "environmental justice." This is shortsighted.  Biden is now following through on his plans by wielding the vast power of the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). Biden's EPA gave th...

By Alison Durkee | Forbes Former President Donald Trump and his co-defendants will have to pay $364 million for fraudulently misstating the value of his and his company’s assets on financial statements, a New York judge ruled Friday, levying significant punishments against the ex-president and his business that could hurt him financially and affect his business’ operations. By Rachel Schilke | Colorado Springs Gazette Republican National Committee Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel reportedly said she would step down as chairwoman if former President Donald Trump became the nominee and wanted her out. McDaniel believes the Republican nominee deserves a chairperson they can trust, so she said she would resign from her post if that was what Trump wished, according to the Washington Post. It looks like this may come to pass, as reports are circulating that McDaniel will step down after South Carolina's primary on Feb. 24. Her resignation after many years in leadership came after she faced a slew of criticism from party members and the former president, who has appeared to have changed his tune on McDaniel in rece...

The Housing Crunch Is Causing Americans To Delay Marriage and Children

By EJ Antoni | Heritage Foundation Failed public policies are undermining the institution of marriage in America. Rates of both marriage and child births have been trending down for decades, but the current cost-of-living crisis is poised to accelerate these declines. If you can’t afford a place to live, chances are you won’t get married and have kids. That’s precisely the calculus for millions of young Americans today who can’t make ends meet despite a record number of them holding second or even third jobs. Sixty percent are living paycheck to paycheck. Americans have accumulated a record high $1.1 trillion in credit-card debt as many can’t cover even necessities. But Americans aren’t just falling into debt—they’re falling behind on payments too. Defaults and delinquencies are r...
