Stacie Wilssens, of Manitou Springs, knew Livelsberger through his former wife, Sara Livelsberger. The women hit it off as friends around 2012 after the Livelsbergers moved to Colorado Springs for Matthew Livelsberger's job with the military. The couple divorced in 2018. The Evergreen Lake Plunge brought over 350 people to jump in a hole cut in the ice of the frigid lake. "I don't know. Why are we doing this? For fun," said one mom there with her two boys. By BRIAN PORTER | Rocky Mountain Voice Two weeks after ex-Jefferson County Chief of Schools David Weiss was terminated, he is believed to have committed suicide, Fox 31 News is reporting. He was found dead following allegations he had been in possession of child sexual assault material. Weiss was terminated Dec. 19 during an investigation. The Jefferson County Sheriff's Office is investigating Weiss, Fox 31 News reported. The Jefferson County Sheriff's Office was contacted by the Washington, Md., Sheriff's Office on New Year's Day that a death investigation into Weiss was taking place, Fox 31 reported. Juvenile rescued after falling into missile silo east of Aurora Reservoir

By Christa Swanson | CBS Colorado A juvenile was rescued Wednesday after they were injured falling into a missile silo in Arapahoe County. According to the Arapahoe County Sheriff's Office, dispatchers received a report at 3:45 p.m. that a juvenile fell into the silo east of the Aurora Reservoir. Authorities said three people were exploring the site when a juvenile fell 40-50 feet into one of the silo's exhaust vents and was injured. For about 218 major bridges carrying cars, trains and pedestrians from one place to another in Colorado Springs, most would say that users should not have to spare a thought for the engineering under their feet. A 2024 study put out by the Colorado Department of Transportation rated those bridges at least a 5 out of 9, putting them in the “fair” to “excellent” category of condition. Unfortunately, Colorado Springs had a few in need of serious work — some of which are linchpins in major transportation arteries. Commerce City police officer hurt after suspected DUI driver crashes into patrol vehicle

By Jennifer McRae | CBS Colorado A Commerce City police officer was hurt in a crash when a suspected DUI driver slammed into the back of the patrol vehicle. The crash happened just after midnight Tuesday northwest of Denver on I-270 west of Vasquez.  According to investigators, one officer was inside the SUV at the time of the crash and rushed to the hospital. Louisville, Superior and unincorporated Boulder County have collectively reported that 712 of those homes have been rebuilt. Many of the neighborhoods that were hit hardest in the fire are nearly unrecognizable after these three years.
