Again.” Shortly before 8 p.m. Monday night, as members of the Out Loud Men’s Chorus were rehearsing inside First Congregational Church in downtown Colorado Springs, a neighbor’s video cam captured two cars pulling up, and six individuals jumping out and ripping down a large, rainbow-colored banner that for years has hung in the church portico. DEA arrests another alleged Tren de Aragua member in Denver

By Luige Del Puerto | The Denver Gazette Anti-narcotics agents have arrested a man suspected of being a member of the Venezuelan gang operating in metro Denver. The U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration provided few details of the arrest.  In a post on X on Wednesday, the agency said the arrest was made overnight.   The agency posted a video of the arrest, which showed a man in handcuffs being led into a law enforcement vehicle. New internal detective bureau allows RTD officers to now investigate crimes on district properties

By Jack Lowenstein | CBS Colorado RTD Police Department in Denver launched its new internal detective bureau on Tuesday, the Regional Transportation District shared in a press release. This is the first time in the agency's history it will be able to directly investigate crimes that take place on RTD properties.  According to the press release, Detective Lt. Fabian Rodriguez and Detective Brian Beary were promoted to the internal detective bureau on Jan. 26 from their previous roles as transit police officers. Combined, both detectives have 45 years of law enforcement experience. By Jeff Rice | Akron News Reporter Don’t look for retail beef prices to come down any time soon. That was part of the message from an industry expert Tuesday at the Colorado Farm Show in Greeley. Tyler Cozzens, an economist for Livestock Marketing Information Center in Lakewood, told a small crowd of about 70 people that cattle prices finished strong in 2024 and look to remain strong throughout the coming year. DEA said they were investigating a drug trafficking operation in Lochbuie.  "There is a renewed sense of purpose in our mission which is removing violent criminals who are trafficking dangerous drugs like fentanyl into our communities," said Assistant Special Agent in Charge, DEA Rocky Mountain Division David Olesky. By Luige Del Puerto | Colorado Politics, via The Gazette The Trump administration's education department on Tuesday said it is investigating reports that Denver Public Schools converted a girls' restroom at its flagship high school campus into an "all-gender" facility, calling it "discrimination" against female students.     "As a result, East High School now has an exclusive restroom for male students and no restroom for female students on its second floor," the U.S. Department of Education’s Office for Civil Rights said in a letter to Denver Public Schools Superintendent Alex Marrero. Whooping cough outbreak at Colorado Springs middle school confirmed by health department

By Mackenzie Bodell | The Gazette Jenkins Middle School families with children in the seventh grade received a notice from El Paso County Public Health this week confirming a whooping cough, or pertussis, outbreak.  An outbreak is considered to be two or more individuals testing positive for the illness, according to a health spokesperson. Montrose County jail entering final phase of $8 million renovation

By Bella Demosthenous | KJCT-TV ABC 8 News Montrose County Jail is currently in the third and final phase of this seven-year, $8 million project. “We looked at the facility and determined that we needed a lot of extra room in holding. There were some deficiencies with the architecture originally, so what we did was expand that,” says Dean McNulty, Montrose County Jail commander. The jail nearly doubled in size, going from three holding cells to nine, bringing its total holding population from 15 up to 45.
