Final phase of Grand Junction downtown parking updates to be rolled out this week

By Kacie Sinton | KKCO-TV 11 News The City of Grand Junction is making some changes to parking in the downtown area. Starting this week, the final phase of updates will be rolled out to downtown parking. Grand Junction workers will be installing 17 kiosks around various downtown parking lots. Officials will also begin allowing 10-hour parking for people with applicable permits at 600 Rood Avenue and 500 Ute Avenue, plus four-hour parking in the 400, 500, and 600 blocks of Colorado Avenue. Two arrested for allegedly shooting cows to death in Montrose County

On Friday, a combined group of Delta and Montrose County Deputies carried out a search warrant looking for evidence related to the shooting at 25 Mesa Road. As state weighs budget cuts, CPW set to award up to $50k for initiatives that promote ‘Born to Be Wild’ license plate

By Wylee Mitchell | KKCO-TV CBS 11 Colorado Parks and Wildlife recently announced the ‘Born to be Wild License Plate Grant Program.’ The program will grant up to $50,000 in funding to initiatives that promote the license plate. According to the CPW, grant awards will be available annually to Colorado based non-profit organizations, educational institutions, or government agencies. Other entities will be considered on a case-by-case basis. The application deadline is December 15. The awardees will be announced in March. Colorado House Bill 23-1265 created a new special license plate, raising funding for nonlethal ways of mitigating conflict with gray wolves. All egg producers in Colorado who house more than 3,000 egg-laying hens will be required to comply with the cage-free egg rule requirements.
