Niche, a ranking and reviews website, released its 2025 rank of best schools and school districts in the country on Monday. The list includes both private and public schools. Colorado lawsuit attempting to block Kroger, Albertsons merger will begin next week

By Gabrielle Franklin | Fox 31 News Colorado’s lawsuit against the parent companies of King Soopers and Safeway is set to begin next week. Before that happens, Colorado Attorney General Phil Weiser briefed the public about the case. Several other lawsuits surrounding the merger are being heard across the U.S., but Weiser said Colorado’s case is a little different from the rest. “In July, a district court judge ruled that the merger had a reasonable probability of violating the law here in Colorado — the Colorado Antitrust Act. That ruling put a temporary pause on the merger. We’re now prepared for what we believe will be the case that will end this merger and will prevent it from harming Coloradans,” said Weiser during a news conference Thursday. These booklets are sent to every household with a registered voter in it and this year, around 2 million were sent out. The Colorado Legislative Staff Council, which creates and sends out the booklets for statewide elections, told FOX31 that the booklets for the 2024 election cost around $3.65 million to produce. On Tuesday, Ordinance No. O-024-004, “Safe use of public property to limit public camping and prohibit temporary structures on public property within Douglas County, Colorado,” was adopted at the county’s Board of County Commissioners public hearing. According to the ordinance, this ban was “necessary” for public welfare, health and safety. While this ordinance was adopted, it won’t be in place for another month. Here’s what it means. Brad Bledsoe began his knack for growing pumpkins four years ago when he grew, what he thought was, a large pumpkin. After growing his first pumpkin in his home just north of Fort Collins, he took the 200-pound pumpkin to a contest, which turned out to be one of the smallest ones there. Researchers at the University of Colorado Boulder looked into the neighborhood that is filled with manufacturing plants like the Suncor Energy oil refinery, the Robert W. Hite wastewater treatment plant, local industrial shops and major highways. 100 license plate readers equals 100 arrests of suspects on varius charges, Denver police say

By Maddie Rhodes | Fox 31 News License plate readers are continuing to be installed around Denver, and with almost 100 readers around the city, police have been able to arrest over 100 suspects on various criminal charges. The city’s plan to install over 100 license plate readers was announced in January as part of an initiative to crack down on auto theft. Since the installation, the Denver Police Department said there have already been success stories. Police released the Flock Safety Transparency Portal, which allows residents to see which law enforcement agencies have access to the data, prohibited uses of the information, what’s not detected and other information. Denver has 35 ‘centi-millionaires,’ or residents worth $100 million or more

By Samantha Jarpe | Fox 31 News There are 35 residents living in Denver who are “centi-millionaires” and are worth $100 million or more, according to a new report released by the consultant company Henley & Partners. According to the report, a centi-millionaire is anyone with liquid investible wealth of $100 million or more. This includes things like company and cash holdings and debt-free residential property holdings. The Mile High City was not on the top 50 list but was included on Henley & Partner’s “cities to watch” list, which are cities forecast to see a jump in the number of centi-millionaires between now and 2040. I’m going to Springfield and I’m going to Aurora,” Trump told rally-goers. “You may never see me again, but that’s OK. Greeley teacher arrested, accused of assaulting elementary student

By Morgan Whitley | Fox 31 News A Greeley teacher was arrested for allegedly assaulting an elementary-aged student. On Aug. 30, Greeley School Resource Officers were made aware of an alleged assault between an adult teacher and a 6-year-old student at Maplewood Elementary, located at 1201 21st Ave. According to Greeley police, they were notified of the alleged assault by Greeley-Evans School District 6 administrators and security.
