By Maddie Rhodes | Fox 31 News Colorado Gov. Jared Polis submitted the proposed state budget for 2025 to 2026, which suggests putting millions into education and safety. Every year, the governor, elected officials and state agencies submit annual budget requests to the legislature to fund specific state services. This can include health care, human services, education and Colorado roads. In April, Polis signed the 2024-25 state budget with measures that fully funded Colorado schools, created investments into public safety and created new housing. The Census Bureau’s most recent American Community Survey estimates more than 15.8 million Americans previously served. Unsurprisingly, the nation’s most-populated states — Texas, Florida, and California — are home to the most veterans. The flyovers are a traditional gesture that the Colorado Air National Guard observes on patriotic holidays, which the federal agency said shows the dedication and support that guardsmen provide, in addition to showcasing the U.S. Air Force’s military strength. Close to 1 million Colorado voters returned their ballots on Election Day

By Maddie Rhodes | Fox 31 News On Election Day, many Coloradans were still in the process of casting their votes. Within less than 24 hours, almost a million people returned their ballots. On Monday, only about half the registered voters in Colorado had voted. The Colorado Secretary of State said that 2,092,035 people returned their ballots by Monday, marking over half the 4,027,830 active voters in Colorado. However, voter turnout continued to rise. 2 Tren de Aragua members arrested in Aurora, linked to Texas murder

By Heather Willard | Fox31 News Two men who are allegedly members of the Venezuelan gang Tren de Aragua were arrested by officials in Aurora in September for the August murder of Nilzuly Enrique Arneaud-Petit, 33, in Farmers Branch, Texas. Homeland Security Investigations reported on Nov. 1 that Carl Luis Zambrano-Bolivar, 26, and Jhonata Nahin Toro Gonzalez, 22, were arrested on Sept. 26 in Aurora by Denver’s Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s Enforcement and Removal Operations team. The arrests are connected to a third individual, 38-year-old Ehiker Morales Mendoza, who was arrested by federal law enforcement on Oct. 11 in Las Cruces, New Mexico.
