Inflation rises slightly to 1% in December in producer price index

By Zachary Halaschak, Washington Examiner | SOURCE: The Gazette Wholesale inflation, as measured by the producer price index, ticked up slightly to 1% for the year ending in December as the Federal Reserve keeps interest rates high. The new numbers were released on Friday by the Bureau of Economic Analysis. The December increase came after a 0.8% annual increase the month before. Most forecasters anticipated a slight uptick in wholesale inflation in December. On a month-to-month basis, the wholesale price index fell by a tenth of a percentage point. Security Council demanded an immediate halt to attacks by Yemen’s Houthi rebels on ships in the Red Sea in a resolution adopted Wednesday that implicitly condemned their main weapons supplier -- Iran. The resolution, sponsored by the United States and Japan, was approved by a vote of 11-0 with four abstentions – Russia, China, Algeria and Mozambique. It condemns “in the strongest terms” at least two dozen attacks carried out by the Houthis on merchant and commercial vessels, which the resolution says are impeding global commerce and undermining navigational freedom. By Sage Kelley | Denver Gazette Franktown Fire Prevention District firefighters fought a fully engulfed barn fire on Wednesday morning, just six weeks since another barn fire struck Douglas County. And just seven weeks since a Franktown barn fire killed nine horses. Firefighters extinguished a fire in a 15-by-15-foot barn around 2:30 a.m. Wednesday, according to a social media post by the District. String of arson attacks terrorizing community in Colorado

By Spencer McKee | Source: The Denver Gazette A neighborhood in the northern Colorado city of Fort Collins is being terrorized by a series of reported arson attacks, which have damaged a home, decorative items, a vehicle, and more. According to a report from the Coloradoan, cases of arson first started being reported in the area of TimberVine neighborhood and the Collins Aire Mobile Home Park in October and in November, with additional cases popping up near the beginning of January. Instances have included vehicles being lit on fire, damage to landscaping, and flags being burnt, numbering at least four cases this month. Lauren Boebert’s ex-husband released on bail following arrest

Lauren Boebert, has been released on bail from the Garfield County jail on suspicion of six charges in connection with two separate incidents involving altercations with family members. The first of back-to-back incidents happened on Jan. 6 after a loud disturbance in a Silt restaurant with the congresswoman, in which Jayson Boebert claimed his ex-wife punched him in the face, while Boebert maintained she merely "touched" his nose.  In a news release on Wednesday afternoon, the Silt Police said that Jayson Boebert recanted any claims of domestic violence.
