By Heather Willard | Fox 31 News The Boulder County Sheriff’s Office confirmed Sunday afternoon that it will not be using the Colorado Bureau of Investigation crime labs for forensic casework moving forward. Instead, the county agency will transition the casework to the Jefferson County Regional Crime Lab. “This change is driven by our commitment to delivering the highest level of service to those affected by crime in our community,” a sheriff’s office spokesperson told FOX31 on Sunday. Greeley men planned to launch tobacco, meth over federal prison fence in Louisiana with air cannon

By Logan Smith | CBS Colorado Two Colorado men were recently apprehended outside a federal penitentiary in Louisiana before they could carry out a plan to deliver packages of tobacco and methamphetamine to inmates inside the prison.  The Greeley men, 18-year-old Jose Francisco Herrera Munox and 19-year-old Angel Gonzales Gutierrez, planned to launch the packages over a security fence with an air cannon.  That type of cannon uses compressed air. And while plenty of other renovation projects at the airport are now in their early stages, airport officials say those won't have nearly the same impact as the Great Hall renovation. DIA CEO Phil Washington unveiled plans and renderings for the final phase of the Great Hall Project on Tuesday, saying the remodeled terminal will showcase "the spirit of Colorado" and better serve passengers. By Gabriela Vidal | CBS Colorado Driving along Interstate 70 during the winter can be a daunting task for Coloradans as much as out-of-state drivers; however, new legislation in the state could help alleviate some of the challenges motorists face, especially when it comes to putting on tire chains. "We see it as being one piece in an overall puzzle towards solving some of the issues on I-70," said Greg Fulton, president of the Colorado Motor Carriers Association. The Motor Carriers Association is among several state groups supporting Senate Bill 69, which would pave the way for the Colorado Department of Transportation to issue permits to private companies to be able to sell and install tire chains along I-70. By Alexander Tin | CBS Colorado The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has confirmed a third U.S. bird flu hospitalization, Wyoming's health department said Friday after a woman was admitted to a healthcare facility in neighboring Colorado.  The patient was experiencing "flu-like symptoms" and had "health conditions that can make people more vulnerable to illness," Wyoming's health department said. She was likely exposed to the H5N1 virus through direct contact to an infected poultry flock at her home. As the strike continues, ripple effects are impacting more than just grocery store workers and store earnings; grocery delivery app drivers are also impacted. Some drivers like Megan Snavely say they can't afford to not cross the picket line. "I feel bad for still going in and shopping. However, as much as they see me in here, I do think that (union workers) are very understanding," Snavely said. ‘Top 10’ are now in ICE custody for drug trafficking, other violent crimes

By Tori Mason | CBS Colorado The Drug Enforcement Administration is working with other federal agencies on immigration enforcement in Colorado. In the last 2.5 weeks, the DEA Rocky Mountain Field Division has made over 90 arrests. Some of the suspects were involved in trafficking fentanyl and methamphetamine, while others had committed violent offenses both in the U.S. and in their home countries. The DEA provided a list of "Top Ten" arrested suspects who are now in ICE custody. They're from several countries including Honduras, Cuba, El Salvador and Venezuela. Officials at one Colorado school district help student declare herself homeless before moving in with teacher

By Shaun Boyd | CBS Colorado The Jefferson County School District is apologizing to the parents of a Columbine High School student after school officials helped the student lie on a federal form and then hid it from her parents so she could move in with a teacher. According to investigators hired by the district, the student - a 17-year-old female - was involved in an inappropriate relationship with social studies teacher Leann Kearney.
